I Katatonia decisero di prendersi una pausa nel dicembre 2017 per rivalutare la composizione della loro band, terminata nel febbraio del 2019, per celebrare il loro album del 2009 Night is the New Day. Pare che del nuovo materiale sia in arrivo, anche se le certezze matematiche ancora non ci sono.
Un nuovo disco si credeva una possibilità in futuro, ma considerare i Katatonia (Kscope) una band in attività sembrava un po’ una forzatura.
Ora sembra esserci una ragione molto più concreta per credere che stia arrivando un nuovo disco. La band ha pubblicato su Facebook quello che stanno facendo nel 2020, dicendo “ci vedranno tenerci occupati per ragioni diverse dal rendere omaggio al nostro passato”. Poi c’è una foto dei Katatonia in studio. Insomma, tutto torna.
As we’re moving into the holidays and 2019 is about to close its chapter, we’d like to extend a thanks to everyone who supported us this year! On the live front, we saw the night come down over several cities as Night is the New Day celebrated its 10th anniversary. Another dear experience! Oh and for the record, that’s now our 4th album that we’ve played from start to finish, not bad right?
However, 2020 is the threshold to a new decade and will see us keepin’ busy for other reasons than paying tribute to our past. Actually, here’s a pic to give you a clue about what’s waiting on the other side… Will we see you there?
